CapCutGPT is designed with privacy at its core. Your video files are never uploaded to any server. All video processing — trimming, cropping, adding effects, captions, and more — happens entirely in your web browser using WebAssembly technology (FFmpeg.wasm). Your videos never leave your device.

What Data We Collect

Video Metadata Only

When you use the AI chat feature, we send only basic video metadata (duration, dimensions, filename) to our AI service to understand your editing request. The actual video content is never transmitted.

Account Information

If you create an account, we collect your email address and basic profile information through our authentication provider (Clerk). This is used solely for account management and subscription handling.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card numbers. Stripe may collect information necessary to process your payment in accordance with their privacy policy.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand how people use the site (page views, traffic sources). These tools collect anonymous usage data and do not have access to your video content.

Local Storage

CapCutGPT uses your browser's IndexedDB and localStorage to save your projects, chat history, and edited video outputs locally on your device. This data stays on your device and is not synced to any server. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini AI — Processes your text requests and video metadata (not video files) to generate editing commands
• Clerk — Authentication and user management
• Stripe — Payment processing
• Google Analytics — Anonymous site usage analytics
• Vercel — Hosting and deployment analytics

Data Retention

Since video processing is entirely local, we retain no video data. Account information is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account data at any time by contacting us.

Your Rights
